This Friday, the newly remodeled Harris Building will host an event to preview artwork from 45 registered ArtPrize entries. Guests will be invited to browse three floors of artwork, including pieces created by children who attend Boys & Girls Clubs of Grand Rapids Youth Commonwealth.
With the onset of ArtPrize, this is an excellent opportunity for Boys & Girls Club to showcase their blossoming Visual Arts program. Each BGC location has an Art Room that teaches drawing, painting, photography and more. The art programs are available each day afterschool for children ages 6-18, and the cost to be a Club Member is only $5 for the year.
This will be the first time many of the Club members will experience the rush of having their artwork on public display, and alongside national artists at that. The artwork will be on display at the Harris Building throughout ArtPrize, along with an interactive piece that visitors will be able to manipulate over the course of the art competition.
Tickets and Event Information
Tickets to the ArtPrize Preview at the Harris Building are $20, and include beer and wine. Parking is available at the ramp on the corner of Cherry and Commerce. Guests can buy tickets at the door or pre-register at harrisbuilding.eventbright.com.
