A family event that will delight and inspire people of all ages, we will begin our journey on Sunday afternoon, December 11, 2011 at 5:30 p.m. with a candlelight walk led by the Three Kings through the St. Francis Sculpture Garden to the manger. There we will find the "live" Mary, Joseph and their child, Jesus.
The sculpture garden is located on the campus of Marywood, which is the motherhouse of the Dominican Sisters ~ Grand Rapids. Guests will join together in singing Christmas songs. Several live animals will recreate the atmosphere of that night so long ago--a cold and starry Bethlehem night when the infant Jesus came into our hearts and transformed the lives of all mankind.
Dress warm, bring your family and friends and join us for this special event that celebrates the true meaning of Christmas. After the celebration, your children will be allowed to pet the animals and have their pictures taken with the manger's humble creatures. The evening will end with hospitality including refreshments in a nearby cozy room. There is no charge and free parking is available in the Marywood East Lot. See the Printable Map.
