Sunday Soup on The Rapidian

On the last Sunday of January, interested community participants gathered at the Division Avenue Arts Collective (115 S. Division) at 6 p.m. for the first Sunday Soup mini-grant potluck of the year. Attendees forked over $5 for a ballot and access to the potluck. Grant applicants presented and attendees voted for their favorite proposal. Proceeds usually go to the presenter with the majority of the votes, but in this case, Sunday Soup had its first tie and proceeds were split between the two applicants.

Two proposals were submitted to the Sunday Soup GR site. Jaime Johnson proposed to use Sunday Soup proceeds to get her photography prints professionally mounted. Jeff Kraus presented for his band, Jowls, which will use the proceeds to offset the cost of soundproofing a practice room and recording a demo album.

For those who couldn't make it, I experimented with live coverage for minute-by-minute updates.

NoteIn my original updates, I mistook DAAC board member Victoria Marcetti for a member of Jowls. I also mistook Andy Westmoreland for Andy Dragt. The live coverage document below reflects those changes.

Comments

just wanted to comment that Jeff and Ryan are the only two members of Jowls. That blonde girl (me) is just a friend.

George informed of my mistake on the way home. I've made changes to the document to reflect that.
