"Strong Neighborhoods, Strong City" is the first summit of its kind in Grand Rapids, bringing together leaders and citizens with the goal of strengthening local communities.
Grand Rapids Sport and Social Club is hosting a tournament with the help of Downtown Grand Rapids Inc., and 16 teams will compete in a double elimination series of the ice sport similar to hockey- but with brooms.
Leaders of the festival will be training volunteers and reporters on topics such as disability politics, best practices in terms of language and perceptions, stigmas and stereotypes. Join us for this free training on Thursday night to get ready to report well.
