Comprehensive Therapy Center is excited to launch its second session of Diversity in Healthcare Youth Project!   

DiHC is a program to prepare, guide, and support marginalized youth pursuing careers in healthcare.” says Summer Wright, Executive Director.

 The program is open to high school students in Grand Rapids and consists of seven 90-minute workshops led by guest speakers. These diverse speakers will share their experiences in the healthcare industry and provide advice on overcoming barriers (social, financial, etc).  Additional support from this program will includes bus passes, snacks, college admission/prep books, and a $100 stipend for students that complete the program. 

Workshop topics include: 

  • What does a [Speech-Language Pathologist] [Occupational Therapist] [Physical Therapist] [Social Worker] do?

  • Letters After Your Name: Degrees and Certifications

  • Barriers, and How to Smash Them

  • Internships, Resumes, and Admissions Letters

The first workshop starts April 28th and runs every Thursday from 6:30pm-8:00pm until June 9th, 2022.

The Rapidian, a program of the 501(c)3 nonprofit Community Media Center, relies on the community’s support to help cover the cost of training reporters and publishing content.
