Grand Rapids Public Museum and Grand Rapids Amateur Astronomical Association to host special lecture in October
On Wednesday, the Grand Rapids Public Museum (GRPM) announced that it will be hosting a special lecture in the Meijer Theater later this month. This event will be part of the October meeting of the Grand Rapids Amateur Astronomical Association (GRAAA).
Professor Edwin (Ted) Bergin, chair of the University of Michigan's astronomy department, will be giving a presentation starting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 19. As this event is part of the October GRAAA meeting, "this lecture is open to the public with no admission fee, providing a golden opportunity for attendees to delve into the mysteries of the universe." According to Jack Daleske, Planetarium Manager at the Grand Rapids Public Museum:
"GRAAA meetings and presentations at the GRPM showcase both the wonders of the sky and the significance of the GRAAA to the community. Making these sessions public enhances the overall experience and promotes broader awareness for both organizations."
The Museum's press release also states that Dr. Bergin's presentation will revolve around a particular theme: "Making a Habitable World."
For more information or to register for the event, visit the GRPM's website.
