INTERVIEW
Iraq war veteran Vince Emanuele was in Grand Rapids yesterday to speak about his experiences during two combat deployments, and his perspectives on US militarism and its effects.
Speaking at Plymouth UCC, and brought to town by the Left Forum of Grand Rapids, Emanuele talks of how his second deployment changed his thinking, and pushed him to examine closely this country’s history on war, and the effects military spending has on other aspects of American culture and life.
In addition to traveling to speak to different audiences, Emanuele serves as a board member of Iraq Veterans Against the War, and also has a weekly community radio station show in Indiana called Veterans Unplugged, as part of his effort to help voices be heard that he feels are often unrepresented.
