INTERVIEW
In this episode of Catalyst Radio we highlight the inaugural DisArt Festival that begins today, April 10, in downtown Grand Rapids.
As the largest disability arts festival in the country, DisArt is the multi-day event that runs through April 25, featuring international art exhibits, performances, film, parties and discussions that provide numerous educational and experiential opportunities.
As part of Grand Rapids’ “Year In Art and Access,” the event features an internationally-recognized exhibit from the United Kingdom call “Art of the Lived Experiment.”
In studio to talk about DisArt Festival are festival director Christopher Smit, and festival developer Jill Vyn.
Smit will also discuss the idea of changing perspectives on disability, and how disability itself is an art.
