The 36th Annual Eastown Streetfair will take place on Saturday September 19th, along Wealthy Street between Atlas and Lake, and on the first block of Ethel Street.  The event commences at 9.00 am and concludes at 8.30 pm.

This annual neighborhood celebration of arts, crafts, food, and music will be bigger and better than ever this year.  Several of West Michigan's finest bands will perform on two stages (the outdoor Bud Stage, and the Bud Lite Stage inside Billy's Blues Club).  Music will commence on the Bud Stage at 10.30 am, and on the Bud Lite Stage at 1.45 pm.  Bands playing a wide range of genres will be featured - jazz, bluegrass, folk, honky-tonk, R&B, funk, pop, hip-hop, and rock. More than 80 booths featuring some of the finest artists and crafts persons from all over Michigan will line the streets.  And all of Eastown's great retail and dining establishments will be open for business with 'Streetfair' specials.

An exciting new feature this year will be the inclusion of the annual Grand Rapids Peace Festival at Streetfair.  The Peace Festival will feature numerous activities for kids and adults at their seven booths, which will be set up just inside the barrier in Ethel Street.

Due to a number of potentially dangerous incidents with dogs at the Bizarre Bazaar in June, the City of Grand Rapids has issued a City Resolution which specifies that no dogs will be permitted on site.  GR police officers, who will be in attendance all day, will be required to enforce the 'No Dogs' resolution.  Streetfair organizers are asking visitors to the event to respect this new provision and leave their dogs at home.

Streetfair, which is organized by the Eastown Special Events Committee, is supported by the Eastown Community Association, the Eastown Business Association, and the entire community.  It is one of the major events on the Grand Rapids City events calendar.

All enquiries about Streetfair should be addressed to: The Eastown Community Association (Ph: 451 3025); or to Special Events Committee Chair, Craig Benjamin.
