Chad Becker was first introduced to the idea of someone driving you home from the bar in your own car when he was visiting a friend in North Carolina.
“I’ve been thinking about this idea for the last few years. It's always been in the back of my mind, so I went for it,” says Becker.
Your Chauffeur features on-call designated drivers for those nights when you may have had one too many, but still need your car in the morning. Available Thursday- Saturday from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m., for on-call drivers. The drivers travel on foldable scooters, made to fit easily in the backseat or trunk of any car.
People can text or call 616-803-9247 when they are in need of a driver.
“When we receive that call we are using Google voice to help dictate where the calls are. At the moment our assumed process is I am getting the calls and dispatching. All of sudden if we get low on drivers I will dispatch myself out and switch Google voice to all of us and who ever is available to pick up, will, “ says Becker.
Funded through Start Garden, Your Chauffeur received the public selection votes to fill what they say is an important need in Grand Rapids.
Your Chauffeur says they are here to fill a niche in late nightlife, providing a service to those who simply need a ride home and access to their car in the morning.
The entrepreneurs are sponsored through Stella’s Lounge, Grand Rapids Brewing Company, McFadden’s and Hopcat, where Your Chauffeur will be operating on the side of the building.
