Take charge of your health this fall with no-cost in-person High Blood Pressure Control workshop in Jenison; additional workshops over Zoom
If you are living with high blood pressure and want to be healthier, consider taking the upcoming in-person Personal Action Toward Health (PATH) workshop in Jenison starting on Thursday, September 28. The National Kidney Foundation of Michigan (NKFM) provides this no-cost workshop that helps people to manage chronic diseases and live healthier. The fun, interactive eight-week workshop, also known as High Blood Pressure Control (HBPC) PATH, features a health coach working with a small group to explore skills and tools that help people with chronic diseases to improve the quality of their lives. Each week, the group discusses strategies to help people live healthier lives and set practical, achievable goals.
Session topics include controlling symptoms, decreasing stress, advocating for yourself, communicating with health providers, and more. The workshop is open to all adults in Michigan with long-term health conditions, their caregivers and their loved ones.

"I was so thrilled with this workshop!" states Mary Ward, 75, of Comstock Park, who finished the HBPC workshop in August. “We covered a lot of material. Plus you really learn a lot from the other people in the group. The action plans you create in the workshop keep you accountable. The coaches were well-informed, personable and happy to share. It’s so wonderful that it’s available at no cost!”
