WYCE’s Radio on the TV, a music video show produced in collaboration with GRTV at the Grand Rapids Community Media Center, is in the midst of season four of the show. It airs every Tuesday at 8 p.m., Thursdays at 9 p.m. and Saturdays at 4 p.m. The show this year is hosted and directed by WYCE interns Ben Weissenborn and Ross Turcotte, and produced by Music Director Pete Bruinsma.

The show features a wide variety of videos released within the last year, from both national acts and local bands.

Drawing inspiration from shows like Tim & Eric Awesome Show Great Job, the 90’s sock puppet show Sifl and Olly and The BJ Rubin Show- which is a music variety show that airs on a public access station in Brooklyn- the series of seven episodes include a variety of editing styles and creative approaches.

The music videos featured on the show are rather eclectic, designed to mirror the diverse nature of WYCE’s programming.

Local bands like Vox Vidorra, Matt Ten Clay & The Howlers and Shane Tripp are featured, as well as national bands like Kurt Vile, Father John Misty and The Suffers. Weissenborn and Turcotte worked to select videos that they felt were humorous and entertaining, as well as some they categorize as esoteric.

"[We] had such a fun time putting together this season of WYCE’s Radio on the TV and we think that is visible in the final product," says co-host Weissenborn. "There were several editing sessions where [Turcotte] and I were both in tears from laughing so hard at what we had created. Creating these seven episodes was a great learning experience for us, and was also a great bonding experience for us as friends. We had an amazing time putting together this season and we hope that people have as much fun watching them as we had making them."

WYCE’s Radio on the TV will continue February 13 at 4 p.m. on GRTV (channel 25). The show will air on Tuesdays at 8 p.m., Thursdays at 9 p.m. and Saturdays at 4 p.m.
