This Friday, Oct. 29, Philadelphia's own The Great Unknown will be in Grand Rapids for a pair of back to back appearances.
The first appearance at the "Singing Conversation" series presented by Literary Life Bookstore (758 Wealthy St SE) will take place from 5 to 6 p.m. This event is free.
The series is intended to foster dialogue between musicians and the community, demonstrating how the literary arts have also had an affect on music and the songwriters themselves. This will be an opportunity for people in the community to not only hear the band, but also have a chance to meet them in person, ask them questions about their music, and give the band feedback on their work.
The band's second appearance on Friday will be at Mexicans Sans Frontieres and will be hosted by Hugo Claudin.
Described as "gentle and nuanced alt-country" by Independent Weekly and "part of the canon of Philadelphia's growing alt-folk community" by Tuned In.
Mexicains Sans Frontieres is located at 120 S Division Ave SE #226 (above Mustache Gallery/Pikosito's). Cover is $10
