Our urban forest at a glance

Friends of Grand Rapids Parks is offering a workshop on tree identification at Blanford Nature Center on June 12, from 6-9 p.m. Participants will learn how to recognize and classify common trees and will practice their skills outside under the guidance of the Urban Forester. The class fulfills a requirement in a series of workshops for anyone interested in becoming a Citizen Forester through the Urban Forest Project.

The workshop is free of charge to current members of Friends of GR Parks, and $5 for non-members. Anyone interested in participating is asked to RSVP to Lee Mueller at [email protected] of 616-389-4687.
