Movies in the Park to screen Dreamgirls

Dreamgirls sets the sixties theme movie for the night at Ah-Nab-Awen Park along with The Rapidian Story Matters team, who will be on site to capture individual stories.

On Friday, July 11, Dowtown Grand Rapids Inc. and Friends of Grand Rapids Parks will present the movie Dreamgirls on the big screen at Ah-Nab-Awen Park located at 220 Front Avenue NW. Activities start at 7 p.m. and the movie begins at dusk. 

Pre-show activities include performance by Kathy Lamar and Bob VanStee, Friends of GR Parks kids playground, The Rapidian story fort and a chance to win a $100 Founders gift card.

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and food. Alcoholic beverages are permitted, but remember to bring an ID. Food vendors will also be on site including GoNuts, What the TruckDaddy Pete’s BBQWoking TacoVito’s PizzaDorothy & Tony’s Gourmet Kettle CornFerris Coffee and Spoonlickers

 The Rapidian story fort will be recording individual stories on video as part of Story Matters, a joint collaboration between The Rapidian and GRTV, and will be shared on both The Rapidian's site and GRTV. 

WM Film and Video Alliance is the event community partner and Celebration Cinema is the series sponsor.
