Today our new Picturesque gallery with the theme "Black and White" opens. And it's not just a place for black and white photography.
As Elizabeth Drouillard's photo shows so well, a burst of color in an otherwise colorless scene can really capture our imaginations. We at The Rapidian are looking forward to seeing what your own imaginations can share with us.
Simply upload a photo, give it a title, and share it with your friends and family...
Why share it? Because once again, The Rapidian will be awarding a beautiful bag of Rapidian swag to the photographer whose image garners the most votes. Votes can be gained with Facebook shares, tweets and/or comments.
The gallery is open to submissions by anyone who has a user account on The Rapidian. Black and White will run for the full month of February, with submissions accepted throughout that period.
Photos can be added by clicking "Submit your own" and uploading an image -one the user has taken- in a simple online submission process.
This time, we're also kicking off the month with a photowalk downtown. Local photographer Eric Tank, known for his black and white and "street" photography is letting us come along with him this Friday, February 1, to see what he sees and capture our own inspiration along the way. Join him at Monument Park (corner of Fulton and Division) at 5:00 p.m. sharp.
Participants (and anyone else for that matter!) will finish their photography journey with a stop at Pub 43 at 6:00 to warm up over a hot toddy and discuss their experience and compare photos. Find out more about how to join the photowalk here.
Add your own photos to the gallery now. And don't forget to vote for your favorites while you're there!
