The CYC teamed up with Harrison Park Elementary School to work with kids interested in learning about journalism. The result was the Harrison Park Media Team. Here is what the kids had to say about their group:
Media Team is about sharing stories about what is happening at Harrison Park, such as games coming up, field trips etc… We write about all of these things in news articles. Our goal is to make reading the newspaper fun! We do this by writing things that kids would like to read. We also interview people from Harrison Park and our city of Grand Rapids. The Media Team is run by a group of students from Harrison Park and Mrs. Heatley along with other helpers. If you have any ideas for articles, please contact the Media Team. We would love to hear them!
For their first assignment, the Media Team learned about doing interviews. The students wrote bios for themselves and interviewed another student. Read on to learn about the kids in Media Team at Harrison Park.
