Memory loss doesn’t have to be an inevitable part of aging. Eduation, prevention and early detection can help preserve memory and boost healthy brain function. Dr. Len Lecci returns to Covenant Village of the Great Lakes with the latest information and advice for maintaining brain health. He’ll present “Maximizing Your Memory Health” on Thursday, Aug. 13 at 11 a.m.  Covenant Village of the Great Lakes is located at 2510 Lake Michigan Drive N.W., Grand Rapids, Mich.

Dr. Lecci is a professor of psychology and nationally renowned expert on memory care. After explaining how memory works, he’ll highlight how Alzheimer’s and other dementia affect the brain, and then he’ll focus on three factors that contribute to better brain health: diet, exercise and memory function monitoring. He’ll also update guests on the latest treatments and early warning signs.

Dr. Lecci is director of clinic services for MARS Memory Health Network and professor of psychology at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington. He specializes in the assessment of memory and clinical disorders, and for the past eight years has been involved in a project to maximize the early detection of memory problems
