In this week’s segment of GRTV’s NPO Showcase, Holly Kroeze from the BISSELL Pet Foundation discusses the importance of choosing adoption first when making the decision to give a pet a new home and how you can help empty local animal shelters later this month.
The BISSELL Pet Foundation addresses the growing problem of displaced and homeless animals by educating the community about pet adoption, spay/neuter programs, microchipping and foster care. And on October 22, they’re making pet adoption even easier by sponsoring all adoption fees at 51 shelters across the state during their Empty the Shelters event.
To ensure that these animals are being adopted into loving, forever homes, those looking to adopt on October 22 will need to apply in advance. While adoption fees will be waived, those who adopt dogs will be required to pay the licensing fee, which can range from $7 to $12. Families who adopt will also receive an Adopt Box from BISSELL Pet Foundation, filled with toys, treats, collars and more.
Watch the NPO Showcase segment above to learn more about Empty the Shelters and how you can give a pet their forever home. Visit BISSELL Pet Foundation’s website to see a list of participating shelters and what you’ll need to do in advance to adopt your new furry friend on October 22.
