this is one of my favorite things to do.  it's like being on another planet.  definitely bring a friend or two and don't go too far out on the lake for safety reasons.  the pictures captures one of the best parts of the lake shore and west michigan...the great lake in winter

the footprints and distant figure are pretty spectacular too.  that blue of distance...

thanks for the comments! i completely agree with the extraterrestrial feeling of being out there. my wife (the distant figure) and I have made a point of going out to the lakeshore every year for the last few and I proposed to her in this very location 2 years ago.
