On January 18th seven former clients of Guiding Light Recovery - a free, 4-month inpatient substance abuse treatment program, celebrated reaching one year of sobriety. Tim came to Guiding Light 14 months ago after violating his parole from prison. He was given the option to go back to prison or come to Guiding Light. Although, by his own words, he came with the intent of "fully gaming the system" and saw it as a means to avoid jail time - he eventually came to realize that the men and staff had all experienced the same pains he thought he, alone, was bearing. Realizing he had a problem, Tim made a decision to take the actions needed to start a new life. Today he has a good job, his own apartment, and a life-long base of support and friendship with positive people. To learn more about Guiding Light go to www.GuidingLightWorks.org
