INTERVIEW
In this edition of Catalyst Radio we feature Grand Rapids Civic Theatre, as it begins its 88th season of performances. This season leans heavily on literature’s Newberry Award winning authors, as is the case with its first play “The Giver,” which begins its run on Oct. 18. Also a part of this season, Civic Theatre is including a book drive for local schools that enables students to read the books, on which the performances are based.
Here to talk about the rich history of Civic Theatre and School of Theatre Arts are two actors in the upcoming play – Jim Chervenka and Jessica Barton. Both are also longtime volunteers with Civic Theatre, with Chervenka’s involvement spanning nearly 4 decades.
Music in this episode of Catalyst Radio is from the Civil Wars, the song is “Kingdom Come” from the sound track for The Hunger Games.
