I teach courses in Modern and Contemporary Art, Visual Culture, African Art, and Documentary. I research and write about documentary photography in the 1930s and 1940s, most usually the Photo League, a grassroots association of documentary photographers working in New York City whose goal was to put the camera into the hands of the working classes.
Art history was my first love, but a close second are my husband and toddler son who keep me busy reading, cooking, and laughing.
