The Grand Rapids Art Museum is pleased to host 43 artists for ArtPrize 2010. ArtPrize’s top award of $250,000 is the world’s largest award for an art competition, and is awarded by public vote. GRAM is one of 192 venues in downtown Grand Rapids participating in the event.

In selecting from among the ArtPrize entries, GRAM’s curators chose works of art they felt communicated an engaging concept through skilled craftsmanship and distinctive style. The resulting installation will reflect the rich diversity of current directions in contemporary art.

From September 22 through October 10, the Art Museum will have free admission, and will be open extended hours (until 8:00pm Monday through Thursday, until 6:00pm on Sundays, and until 10:00pm on Fridays and Saturdays). In addition, as an ArtPrize Exhibition Center, GRAM will have a shuttle stop, voter registration and an ArtPrize store.

Please visit GRAM’s website for more information and news on ArtPrize at GRAM. For information on ArtPrize overall, visit ArtPrize.org.
