The World Cup is one of the biggest and most important sporting events internationally. It's popularity is ever-increasing in the United States and West Michigan has always been a soccer-loving community. A lesser know fact is that every year, more and more international refugees are finding homes in the area through assistance by Lutheran Social Services of Michigan and their Refugee Services program. Families from Burma, Iraq, Bhutan, Eritrea, Congo, Sudan, Cuba, and many others are helped with housing, cultural orientation, education, and employment. The needs of the refugee families are many but their passion for soccer is unrivaled in the area!
LSSM is providing an opportunity to connect with this growing population of international refugees and share in the excitement of the World Cup Final match with a little help from Celebration Cinema North at Knapp's Corner. The public is invited to join LSSM Refugee Services and their international futbol-loving clients to view the World Cup Final match on the big screen of theater #6, Sunday June 11th, at 2:00 p.m.

There is a minimum suggested donation of $5.00 for this fun opportunity payable at the door. All proceeds will go to LSSM Refugee Services program in Grand Rapids. There will be giveaways, prizes, concession discounts, and opportunities to engage in local refugee issues. This event is BYOV (bring your own vuvuzela).
