Not only major influences in the Grand Rapids regional art community but also long-time friends, artists Sylvia Krissoff and Loretta Sailors share a common bond with the Lowell art community. Their paintings were part of the first group exhibition in the LowellArt!’s gallery titled, “Harry and Friends,” in the early 1980’s.  Each has participated in numerous shows since then.

Ms. Krissoff recently retired as Art Critic for the Grand Rapids Press, following a long career as an art history instructor and lecturer. Ms. Sailors also has a background as an art instructor, having taught in the Grand Rapids public schools. She continues all levels of adult water media classes from her home. Both artists remain very active in the arts.

For their mid-summer exhibition in the LowellArts!’s King Gallery, the artists will present a retrospective of their work along with a sprinkling of new pieces.
