The Lowell Area Arts Council and the Thebes Players present a dinner theatre production of Play On! at the Cherry Creek Stage, 12675 Foreman, Lowell, MI 49331 on April 16, 17, 22, 23 at 6:30pm (dinner) and 7:30pm (show) and on April 18 at 1:00pm (dinner) and 2:00pm (show). Dinner theatre tickets are $23 in advance only. Tickets for show only is $8 in advance and $10 at the door.
Play On! is the hilarious story of a theatre group trying desperately to put on a play in spite of maddening interference from a haughty authoress who keeps revising the script. Act I is a rehearsal of the dreadful show, Act II is the near disastrous dress rehearsal, and the final act is the actual performance in which anything that can go wrong does. When the authoress decides to give a speech on the state of the modern theatre during the curtain calls, the audience is treated to a mapcap climax to a thoroughly hilarious romp. Even the sound effects reap their share of laughter.
Play On! is directed by Matt Tawney and the cast includes Laura Leasure, Corey VanRavenswaay, Ken Parrish, Anne Pasquale, Peggy Schmidt, Gary Brook, George Poindexter, Courtney Kerry, Diana Roush and Sue Bradford.
