WinterWest hosts outdoor events at Richmond Park

Friends of GR Parks, WelcomeWest and the City of GR have collaborated to organize hockey, sledding and bicycling events in four season Richmond Park.

The fourth annual WinterWest festival is going on right now, with events taking place at Richmond Park in the West Grand neighborhood.

The temporary ice rink is already set up and open to the public free of charge.

The next events will take place February 1 and 2 and include:

  • Hockey tournament: Saturday, February 1 - 3 on 3, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (rain date is February 8) register here
  • FatBike GRR bike race: Sunday, February 2 -  1 p.m. register here  [Update: moved to Indian Trails Golf Course due to snow]
  • Crazy cardboard sled competition: Sunday, February 2 -  3 p.m. (rain date is February 9) register here

WinterWest is an annual celebration of community, utilizing Richmond Park's natural resources to create a four season recreation area.
