Do you think the Grand Rapids Police Department does a good job at building relationships within the community?

Politely described as quirky, Scott Trumbo has been making news since 1993, although, now Scott wants to give reporting the news a shot. Currently enrolled in the public administration program at Grand Valley State, Scott has a penchant for community engagement. Scott proudly calls himself a Grand Rapidian, and is determined to bring the best stories that affect the community he calls home.

Yes, I do.  They've not been without public criticism (some arguably deserved) but in the half dozen friendly relations I've had with them I've felt a great sense of sincerity.  It would be easy to serve and protect without investing in real face-time with neighbors, and taking a personal interest in the communities they represent.  Thankfully, most of them (to my knowledge) take the time to build rapport and intentionally get out from behind their badge, to meet and connect with the general public.
