West Michigan's Only Art Competition for Non-Artists

Outside the Lines was created for those who love and appreciate art but have never actually attempted to master an art form. If you've ever stared at a piece and said, "I could do that," this is your open invitation to stop talking and start creating.

People are invited to sketch, sculpt or solder a masterpiece in their mind, without fear of being upstaged by real artists. Channel your untapped creativity into your preferred medium and show it proudly among other closeted creatives in "Outside the Lines," the only West Michigan art show specifically for non-artists.

The Grand Prize includes tickets/passes to Grand Rapids greatest art & culture locations including; The Public Museum of Grand Rapids, UICA, Frederik Meijer Gardens, Grand Rapids Civic Theatre, Opera Grand Rapids, Blanford Nature Center, and more to be announced.

Those who want to enter the competition are encouraged to enter at www.outsidethelinesgr.org. The cost to enter a piece is only $10, and all proceeds will go to the Kendall Youth Scholarship Fund to help West Michigan’s youth learn about, create and enjoy all that is ART.

The best entry will win, which means everyone (including artists) is invited to Sazerac Lounge on January 29th to vote for his or her favorite piece between 6pm-9pm, and take part in the silent auction that some entries have decided to be a part of (proceeds also benefiting the scholarship program). After voting is complete, stick around to listen to some great local music.

Musical Guests include; Chris VanTimmeren & Friends, Ron Keely Band, and more to be announced!

There will be a $3 cover charge, which will get you in the door, and a ticket to vote. Additional tickets are also available for purchase.

The Kendall Youth Scholarship Program helps kids, ages 5-17, to learn, create and express themselves using many forms of art, including painting, sculpting, photography, digital design and more.
