The Starlight Six is a unique and brilliant constellation of some of Michigan's most hard working musicians. The band features the songwriting talents and vocal delights of Joshua Davis, Rachael Davis, May Erlewine and Seth Bernard. Holding it all down, Dominic Davis and Michael Shimmin make up the rhythm section, serving the people and lending their voices to the choir. In this band, there's only one rule... no one sings alone.
For Friday Night the band chose to bring Tom Petty’s masterpiece of an album, Wildflowers out for the holiday season. It seems these songs are a soundtrack to the lives of many, and certainly the members of the Six. With care and so much admiration these musicians will strive to represent the beauty of these songs live, with fresh inspiration and total joy. The evening will also include some songs written by members of the group inspired by Tom Petty's work with Wildflowers.
On Saturday night, the band is excited to host their New Year's concert for the second year in Grand Rapids at the beautiful, historic Wealthy Theater. Bring your dancing shoes and prepare to use them as we enter this New Year together with wonder and well wishes, because when you wish upon a star, anything could happen!
A cash bar will be available with many of your favorite Michigan beers on draught, along with wine and spirits.
