MAYOR CHALLENGES RESIDENTS TO INCREASE RATE OF

CENSUS FORM RETURNS

Mayor George Heartwell and members of the community will urge the people of Grand Rapids to complete and mail back the 2010 Census form to increase our city’s Census 2000 participation rates.

In 2000, Grand Rapids’ census return rate was below the national and state average.   Mayor Heartwell will announce, “I’m asking all residents of Grand Rapids to share their pride in our community and help increase our below-par 2000 Census return rate. Spread the word to neighbors, friends, and family to encourage everyone to return their Census form. Grand Rapids is depending on all of us to be counted.”

A complete and accurate count of the people in our community will help ensure that
Grand Rapids receives its fair share of federal dollars and representation in government. “Please join us in taking 10 minutes to answer 10 questions that are vital to our community’s future and increase our rate of return,” implores Mayor Heartwell.
