Masonic Temple

233 E. Fulton Street
Grand Rapids MI 49503

Ever wonder what's gone on in the past at the 95-year-old Masonic Temple building in downtown Grand Rapids?   Take a field trip with the Grand Rapids Historical Society for a presentation and tour of the place starting at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 8!

The two-hour visit starts with a presentation by John A. Wallsteadt, a 33rd degree Mason and keeper of the historical archives and Michael C. Clark, secretary of the Masonic Temple Board of Trustees and a 32nd degree Mason.

You'll learn about the history of the Masonic Lodge, its founding and connection to a home on Reeds Lake, the Ionia Street Temple, notable area Masons and the organization's status today.  Following the program will be a half-tour of the beautiful historic building.  Arrive a bit early and check out the basement where the Lodge's museum and library has tons of photos of old Grand Rapids artifacts and buildings.

The event is free and open to the public.
