March story pitches

The Rapidian is in the process of developing a story bank, but in the meantime, tell everyone: What do you want to read about?

If you're looking for story ideas, keep an eye on this page. If you want to pitch a story idea, this is the page to do it. Just remember to keep it hyperlocal (within the Grand Rapids city limits).

Submit your pitches as comments on this page. Comments should include the following information where appropriate:

  • What is it?
  • When?
  • Where?
  • Why?
  • Primary contact if you have that information
  • Web site if available

If you have the ability to comment on The Rapidian, you can pitch stories. For any story ideas that take place in future month, we will copy and paste it to the month's pitch page once it goes up. We look forward to seeing your ideas!

UICA's Live Coverage Event

We would love someone to write about UICA's Live Coverage event, on March 13. Live Coverage is our biggest fundraising event of the year and it showcases over 50 local artists creating art at the event. UICA is located at 41 Sheldon Blvd. SE Grand Rapids, MI 49503. Contact pr@uica.org for more information. The event description is below.

LIVE COVERAGE
March 13, 6:30–11PM
Live Coverage brings together some of West Michigan’s most exciting visual artists. Come and view the artists creating work live, before your eyes! The artists will gather at UICA to sculpt, design, paint, draw and print fabulous works of art that will be auctioned off that very evening. This event will give you a chance to witness the creation of great local art and will empower you to purchase the one–of–a–kind pieces, adding color to your home or office. This important charity event will include live and silent auctions along with terrific food, a cash bar, and music. To sponsor this event, advertise in the program  or inquire about tickets, contact Jill at 616 454 7000x26 or jmay@uica.org.
