The Grand Rapids Choir of Men & Boys present “Music for Royal Occasions II” featuring the music from this summer’s Royal Wedding of Prince William & Kate Middleton. Martin Neary returns to Grand Rapids in November to lead the choir in this joyous music by John Rutter and Paul Mealor. The program will open with an anthem written in 1570 by William Byrd in honor of Queen Elizabeth I. Ceremonial anthems by Purcell, Wesley, Boyle & Stanford will fill out the first half. The second half of the concert will feature Gabriel Faure’s exquisite Requiem.
As always, concerts by the Grand Rapids Choir of Men & Boys are free and open to the public. A free will offering to support the choir will be received.
Grand Rapids will receive two performances of Royal Occasions II at St. Andrew’s Cathedral on Friday and Saturday November 4 & 5 at 7PM, downtown on Sheldon (http://g.co/maps/3g59q). They will take place on Friday and Saturday
Kalamazoo, the choir will bring the program to First Baptist Church on Sunday, November 6 at 5:00 PM, in Kalamazoo on Michigan Ave (http://g.co/maps/zf5gs).
