Known as the Avenue of the Arts district, local business/gallery owners such as Sanctuary Folk Art, Heartside Gallery, The DAAC and Vertigo Music will be opening their doors for the aforementioned extended hours!

As well as all this, the Grand Rapids Avenue for the Arts live/work space artists will also be inviting the public in to admire their studio spaces and find some great artwork to view or to buy!

Come along and enjoy this celebration of Grand Rapids Arts whilst supporting its continuance!

UICA is proud to host the exciting works of over 25 ArtPrize artists, including three Juried Award Winners. Don’t miss a beautiful variety of artwork at UICA, including a “Dream Home” made of lottery tickets and a 95 ft.-long graffiti mural! UICA’s ArtPrize exhibitions will be on display through November 27. Admission is just $1 with Free Radical Map

As well as, Speak from the Heart  - Students from University of Michigan’s Urban Planning Program invite you to “Speak from the Heart” Tell us your fondest memories, fears and biggest dreams for Heartside. The feedback gathered in this studio will be used to start a conversation about the future of Heartside. Together, we will shape Heartside and all voices should be heard. Look for us at the Free Radical Event and other venues across Heartside in the next two weeks.

Glyphs is about creating a piece of experimental typography through a single piece. The object is to explore letterforms by materials, shape, and mediums without needing to expand it through a full alphabet. Removing the ability to form words or phrases the artist can dive deeper into the concept and construction of each letter rather than the culture of the language and words.

Curator: Sara Bakker

Artist Alicia Wierschke interprets the balance between order and chaos by exploring their underlying connectedness with organic ribbon forms that flow throughout her prints. Her work reveals and conceals this concept through colorfully printed layers of intertwining forms and tangled masses. 

Musician Jake Down creates passionate soulful storytelling through raw acoustic instrumentation. Performances 7-9pm

Corazon is South Division’s newest taqueria serving fresh Mexican, tacos, burritos and more!

Featuring artists Lydia Larson and Lorilee Grace. Lorilee’s new paintings explore complimentary colors and playful combinations.  Lydia Larson's work describes an invented space caught between physical displacement and rooted spiritual identity.

Curator Taylor Greenfield presents "imperfect", an exhibition of works exploring the juxtaposition between perfection and imperfection. Mollie, Bryan and Tatsuki explore themes of identity.  Store is the Nomadic Avenue for the Arts consignment shop. Providing fine art products like paintings, handmade jewelry, and limited edition t-shirts from over twenty local artists, Store is now accepting new Artists!
