How to submit music

Music may be submitted digitally as files by email to [email protected] — or send a URL link or embed code via email. DropBox files can go to [email protected] (Erin Wilson, Director, Wealthy Theatre.)

Musicians can submit up to three songs, selecting songs that could be performed live to great effect.

Musicians interested in developing music as part of the process (rather than submitting a final song, now) should send previous examples of finished, recorded works.

Dance in the Annex (DITA) & ArtPeers invite local composers, musicians and singer-songwriters to submit original pieces of music for TRIP THE LIGHT 2013 (May 11, 2013).

Submission deadline for musicians: January 18, 2013.

TRIP THE LIGHT is an annual Spring performance concert at Wealthy Theatre, in Grand Rapids, MI. TRIP combines live music with original choreography: modern, post modern, dance theatre, contemporary and other forms of live performance.

Past musicians include: The Crane Wives, Ritsu Katsumata, Ribbons of Song, Charles the Osprey, Paucity, Lights at Sea, Alexis, expunk, Wazobia, Jes Kramer, Astrobats (to name a few).

Musicians can submit songs from any time period and genre. We’re looking to push the boundaries of composition and diversity: the possibilities are limitless. Musicians can either submit music – or develop it as they work closely with the choreographers they’re paired with.

Musicians who have performed in previous Trip The Light events are welcome to submit.

A tech rehearsal will take place May 5th, 2013. A final tech run takes place on the afternoon of the event.

The show will be documented in video and images. Performance pay will again be divided in equal shares and dependent on sponsorship and profits from the shows. All artists are expected to co-promote TRIP in order to maximize ticket sales, maximizing performance pay.

Any questions about Trip should be sent to [email protected].
