Thousands of people gathered at Rosa Parks Circle for the ArtPrize Top Ten Announcement. Preceeding the announcement was the presentation of the winners of the St. Cecilia Music Center song competition by St. Cecilia Executive Director Cathy Holbrook and Michael Crittenden from Mackinaw Harvest Studios. Winners in five categories each received a cash prize of $2,000 and were selected by voters from a pool of 79 entries.
St. Cecilia Music Center Winners:
Classical: "Concerto for Section Percussion and Orchestra" by principal timpanist of the Grand Rapids Symphony, Shannon Wood
Folk/Country: "Easier" by local breakout band The Crane Wives
Rock/Blues: "Win my Love," by veterans of the scene Delilah DeWylde and the Lost Boys
Jazz: "Grand Traverse Bay," by Michigan jazz artist Roger MacNaughton
Pop/Electronic: "Shakti Gayatri," by Michael Cohen
Rick DeVos announced the Top 10, selected by over 42,000 people who cast nearly 400,000 votes. Voting from the Top Ten is now open and will close Thursday, October 4 at 11:59pm. Voters can select one entry in this second round.

"Elephants" by Adonna Khare, showing at the Grand Rapids Art Museum
"The Chase" by Artistry of Wildlife, showing at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum
"Lights in the Night" by Mark Carpenter and Dan Johnson, which took place on Friday, September 28 in downtown Grand Rapids
Voting from the Top Ten is now open and will close Thursday, October 4 at 11:59pm.
