Join the Spring ArtWorks youth program and experience an eight-week series that includes films, hands-on activities, and workshops run by contemporary artists and local businesses. ArtWorks is a free program, for ages 14–19, that introduces young people to sustainable creative careers and gives them tips to future success as a creative doer. Successful completion of the program makes you eligible to be part of the community art projects, UICA advisory council, and other exciting opportunities! The program runs Thursday afternoons in the UICA film theatre from 4–6 PM.

This is the perfect program for young people interested in art! Visit uica.org, under Learn, for an application or email artworks@uica.org for more information.

UICA

Founded in 1977, the Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts (UICA) is Michigan’s largest contemporary arts center and a dynamic, multidisciplinary laboratory for the advancement of the art of our time. UICA actively challenges both artists and audiences to new levels of dialogue, creative pursuit, reflection, and illumination through: groundbreaking visual arts exhibitions, thought-provoking performances and presentations, studio programs for local artists, cutting edge films, as well as educational and expressive arts programs for youth and adults.
